TO BE WITH UKRAINE, TO BE LIKE UKRAINIANS!

The President of the Assembly of Civil Initiatives of CHOICE — Murad Kurbanov made a working trip to the USA and Canada to discuss with politicians, journalists, and human rights organizations the problems of the Central Asian region.

The war in Ukraine (https://youtu.be/wIq6scz-maw), unleashed by the criminal regime of Vladimir Putin, has significantly affected the quality of life of people in our countries. The dictators of Central Asia have shed a lot of blood on civilians this year. Repression is getting tougher every day. There are more and more political prisoners and citizens persecuted for freedom of speech.

The experience of the Ukrainian people shows how important it is to be united.  Thanks to the tireless struggle of Ukrainians on all fronts, they receive the support of the whole world.

On this day, December 7, the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee

adopted a resolution that recognizes Russia’s actions against Ukraine as genocide of the Ukrainian people. The document condemns the Russian Federation “for committing acts of genocide against the people of Ukraine” during the military invasion of this country, calls on the United States and its allies to continue supporting the government of Ukraine and “conducting investigations aimed at bringing to justice those responsible for these terrible crimes.”

“By his actions, Putin has demonstrated extremely clearly that his goal is to end the existence of the Ukrainian people. I saw evidence of his brutality in Irpen and other districts of the Kyiv region,” said Republican Senator Jim Risch, one of the co-sponsors of the resolution.

Another co-author, Democratic Senator Ben Cardin, expressed the opinion that “the crimes committed against the Ukrainian people throughout Putin’s illegal and unprovoked war violate countless international conventions and can only be characterized as genocide.”

The people of Central Asia should unite their forces to resist dictatorships and Putin’s military aggression altogether.
